'Original Sin' is an exploration of the female vessel as container/containment,
tracing back through time to the first female (Eve) and that which she contains (Earth Mother, Fertility, Seduction, Sin).
Original Sin also draws on the stories of Paris and the golden apple (containing Beauty, Seduction and consequently Destruction) as well as the fairy tale of Snow-white (portraying elements of Innocence, Vanity and Jealousy). The female form was derived from the form of Russian nesting-dolls (Matrioshkas) suggesting an ancestral line back to Eve. a genetic link by which all females inherit the
‘Original Sin’, represented by the bitten, golden apple. A stigmata that has haunted women throughout the ages.
